SUPPORTING ORGANISATIONS TO LINK THEIR PROVISION TO ACCREDITED QUALIFICATIONS

Supporting organisations to link their provision to Agored Cymru qualifications and accredited units

THE PROCESS

The organisation contacts TEC WALES to discuss accrediting their provision

TEC WALES guides and supports the organisation through the process of:

Selecting the most appropriate qualifications and units

Cross referencing existing provision to the chosen qualification and units

Creating bespoke learner portfolios (digital and paper based)

Facilitating assessor training for staff

Supporting assessors to guide learners through the units/qualifications

Supporting assessors to use a range of assessment methods

Embedding internal quality assurance

Creating and managing digital classrooms

Practitioners use a wide range of assessment methods to ensure all learning can be captured in different ways and that programmes are fully inclusive.

Learner progress is continually assessed meaning there are no exams.

Provision can be linked to units within the following qualifications, which range from entry level one to level three:

CASE STUDIES

CASE STUDY 2

Wild Elements, based in Bangor University’s Botanic Gardens in Treborth, run a range of fantastic programmes for children, young people and adults in the north Wales region, including the wonderful Wild Woodworking for Schools programme.

TEC WALES have supported Wild Elements to link this fantastic programme to the Agored Cymru Level One and Level Two Work Experience unit.

Achieving the unit means that learners are awarded the Agored Cyrmu Award in Work Related Education qualification.

To achieve the unit, learners engage in a variety of practical, hands on activities to learn about core principles of workshop safety alongside the basic use of hand, and power tools.  Students ultimately contribute to nature, and community development through the construction of Bird Boxes, Planters, Benches, and more!

TEC WALES supports a range of innovative local, regional and national organisations to accredit programmes.
